The opening ceremony of the national meeting of art and craft in Ouarzazate

Ouarzazate had seen on April 15, 2014, the opening ceremony of the national meeting of art and craft in its fourth annual themed “Art and Craft… our identity”. This event was organized by the Professional Federation of Craft and Art in Ouarzazate and will take place from April 15-May 02, 2014 in the Mouahiddine square. This ceremony which is characterized by the presence of the Chairman of the Federation, Mr. Secretary General of the province of Ouarzazate, the head of the Municipal Council of Ouarzazate and the head of the Chamber of Traditional Industry in the Province of Ouarzazate, Zagora and Tinghir.

The opening ceremony witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between the Professional Federation of Craft and Art and (ATA), and the Tunisian Organization for the development of the traditional industry and small jobs. The latter is a new organization that saw the light on December 27, 2013 and it is participating for the first time in an international event. Moreover, a group of great achievers in the field of traditional industry had been honored.

Besides the Tunisian organization, the guest of honor, this meeting is holding more than 146 association and cooperative coming from the whole Moroccan regions.

The goal of these meetings is to make it an annual event that brings together all the Arab countries to collaborate, share their experiences and promote the traditional handicrafts” said Abdelkbir Bahae Eddine, one of the organizers. “What characterizes this edition is that we tried to bring participants from the whole Moroccan regions, in addition to the richness, diversity and creativity in products

The meeting is not only limited in showing products, but it’s also a chance for participants to benefit from workshops, seminars and discussions. Also, it’s an opportunity to discover Ouarzazate through excursions to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, Kasbah Taourit, and the museum of cinema.
