Atlas and Valley is the best destination in Morocco

Atlas and Valley region has won the title of the best touristic destination in Morocco for the year of 2014. The poll was lunched by the Moroccan Touristic Information Tourisma Post from July 25th, till September 1st, 2014.

The poll has registered 20849 votes from 49 country : Europe, North and South America, Asia, from the Arab World, and from Africa as well. The poll results granted Atlas and Valley to get 54% of the votes from the other regions including : Souss-Atlantic Sahara, Mediterranean Morocco, Atlantic Marrakech, Center of Morocco, North, Atlantic Center, And the Grand Atlantic south.

This competition which is considered to be the first of a kind in Morocco has known a great competition between the touristic regions ion Morocco, The purpose of the poll was to know the Moroccan and foreign tourists favorite destination in Morocco.

This victory was the fruit of the hard work of the tourism professionals in Ouarzazate, who are very contributed to promoting the region nationally and internationally via the good communication and the appreciation of the important potentials of the regions, (Kasbahs, Oasis, Cinema, Biodiversity, craft, …)

This distinction happens to higher up Ouarzazate, the Atlas and Valley region capital, which has known a great progression nationally  for the first six months of 2014, for +24% of overnight stays and +19% of arrivals.

The Provincial Tourism Council of Ouarzazate i collaboration with its local partners and the Moroccan National Office of Tourism has established since 2011  a strategy to promote Ouarzazate and the regions, in which the main points are :  organizing trips for the press and educators, Participation in Forums, national and international events, as well as the organization and participation in the organization of events with the outreach over the entire region.

A ceremony will be held shortly to give to tourism operators of Ouarzazate and its region, the trophy for the ‘favorite online Region 2014’.
